I attended Church Hill Elementary School and Church Hill Middle School.  I graduated from Volunteer High School in 2002.  I absolutely LOVED school.  I knew at an early age that I wanted to be a teacher!  I received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in K-6 Education from East Tennessee State University in May of 2006.  Since receiving my degree, I have earned 12 hours of graduate credits working in grant programs through ETSU and Milligan College.

I taught 3rd grade at Rogersville City School during the 2006-2007 school year before coming to SES.  When I came to SES in 2007, I taught 2nd grade for one year before moving to 3rd grade.  3rd grade has been my home for the past 10 years!  3rd grade is the best!  I have done several grant projects through ETSU that have helped me grow as a professional.  In the summer of 2011, I completed the Eastman Mathletes Program.  I completed STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) training in the Summer of 2012.  I completed a Common Core Math/Science Partnership grant in the Summer of 2013.  I  finished a program with Project SEE (Science in Elementary Education) in December of 2013.  I  completed "Putting the Pieces Together" Fraction Program at Milligan College during the summer of 2015.  I was the Surgoinsville Elementary School Teacher of the Year in the 2015-2016 school year.  I worked at our school in the Read to be Ready program during the summers of 2016 and 2017.   I am also working with ETSU to create Common Core videos for parents and teachers to help them to teach math tasks and do other academic activities.  These videos can be found on my Youtube channel.
