B.S., Psychology

I started working in Early Childhood Education as a research assistant at ETSU, where I analyzed data, published two peer-reviewed papers, and evaluated child care centers.  I focused on the teacher-child relationship, child engagement, and overall classroom climate.  I have worked as an assistant in two NAEYC-accredited child care centers as well as school-age child care, grades K-5. My student teaching was fulfilled in two multi-age classrooms, grades K/1 and 2/3, and my first interim (grades 2/3) was completed at Kingsport City.  In Hawkins County, I taught at McPheeter's Bend (grade 1) before coming to Surgoinsville (grade 2).  I now teach small reading groups during Walk and Learn.

I am married to the love of my life, Jeremy. We have a "son", Oscar, who has grey/white fur and a big attitude when he does not get his way! We also have a nephew and 3 nieces.  I love reading, going to thrift stores, Pinterest, walking in the park during Fall and Winter, and eating sweets.
