What is Walk to Learn?

What is Walk to Learn?

All students participate in Walk to Learn, a time when children walk to a different large or small group setting. Walk to Learn is designed to "fill in the gaps" when children are missing a skill. If students have mastered all of the grade-appropriate skills, Walk to Learn is a time for re-teaching current concepts or enrichment.  Skills students study are determined by benchmark assessments that children complete during the fall, winter, and spring.  Reading groups may focus on sounds, letters, phonics, fluency, or comprehension.  Math groups may focus on identifying numbers, counting, place value, adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, etc.
